Fusing Forming Glass 1970 – 1980. Kiln Fired Glass Workshop

Learn how to incorporate compatible fusible coloured glass, stringers, frit shards, powders to create a fused flat piece that will then be formed by slumping or draping over a mould.

  • This is a little different from the fusing workshop, where students learn to produce individual components to be incorporated in the flat fused process.
  • Students will be supplied with an extensive range of glass components (compatible fusible coloured glass, stringers, frit, shards, powders, pre-fired and pre-cut elements) to decorate their projects however, demonstrations on how to fabricate your own individual components will be covered.
  • Fundamental theory on compatibility, annealing, firing schedule, knowing your kiln and other relevant information will be addressed in this session.
  • Students will be supplied with finished moulds to use however; will be fabricating their own moulds for relevant projects.
  • Class open to beginners and advanced Students.
  • The aim of this workshop is to develop an extensive knowledge of essential glass and kiln processes.
