The Workshops illustrate Fusing/Forming (Slumping and Draping) Casting and Mold Making.

Mold making covers a variety of techniques including permanent and non-permanent molds (investment).

The Workshop is adapted around Students individual technical requirements. One of the most important aspects of this program is to fast track knowledge by a hands-on approach by working through projects to discover the fundamentals of Kiln Fired Glass.

Workshop Cost: $800.00 includes materials. 

 

Weekend Workshop – (9:00 to 5:00pm)

In the Workshop you will complete a number of projects that may include a bowl, coasters, jewellery or Christmas decorations.

Accommodation available on-site.

Workshop Cost $300.00 includes materials.

In the general workshop, most of the techniques below are covered however,  you can choose to focus on one or more specific techniques.

WARM GLASS – FUSING & FORMING:
JEWELLERY, BOWLS, PLATES, WALL PANELS AND SCULPTURES ETC.,

The aim of the workshop is to create a solid technical foundation, tailored around Students special design and technical requirements. The course has only a small number of Students, being conducive to individual direction and attention.

Kiln Fired glass – Selection categories.

Fusing, Forming (slumping and draping).  Casting glass (open and closed). Mould fabrication (Investment and permanent). Pate-de-verre, (open and closed moulding). Personalized; Stringers and Shards. Pattern bars. Laminating (cold and kiln fired).   Low and high fired Paints, Decals and Lustres. UV glues. Determining if your form is Annealed and Compatible. Kiln usage knowledge.
